The anime world has been hit with shocking and unbelieveable news today with the passing of Satoshi Kon. His passing was confirmed by Madhouse today, Satoshi was only 46.
Working under Madhouse Satoshi Kon is widely known for his classic films Perfect Blue, Millenium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers, and Paprika. His 13 episdoe amine series Paranoia Agent also isn’t one to be miss.
Satoshi Kon was hard at work on his upcoming next feature The Dream Machine, which was due to be released next year. No new info has been released about the latest status of the project.
Also in the works is a live action version of Paprika to be directed by Wolfgang Pertersen. As of its announcement in late march, nothing new has come of it’s development status.
Satoshi Kon will be sorely missed and a void that could never be replaced in the anime world. A great talent gone way too soon. I know many fans will be remembering Satoshi Kon all this week. I know I will.
