Otakon 2015: Draft King Friday Concert!

Headlining the Friday concert was Draft King. Having only formed in 2012, this is a band I wish
had been around during my high school years. With an easy sound, they manage to get you
pumped and eager for more. Once again, Otakon staff gave press a fantastic spot for both photo
and sound. First impressions were definitely positive, you could really tell they wanted to be
there. Stage presence was fantastic, with members twirling and jumping during high points. I
would have no problem saying that their third song, Electric was my favorite, except that they
happened to have played Zankoku na Tenshi no Teze, which for those of you who do not know,
was the opening theme for the Evangelion TV anime (And also happens to be my favorite anime,
as well as the reason I almost failed my last semester of High School. No, seriously, too much
fanfiction). I have since moved past that embarrassing point in my life, but the song still is one of
my favorites. It was the first time I had heard it live, as well as cover from a rock band.

Thoroughly enjoyed the concert, and I’m hoping that they decide to come back, if not to Otakon, to
tour the U.S. Maybe with BACK-ON. Yea, that would be a fantastic show. Here’s to hoping.
