Crimson Forest Films Releases “The Jade Pendant” This Weekend!

Opening this week in limited release is the highly anticipated feature film adaptation of L.P. Leung’s novel “The Jade Pendant” based on the Chinese Massacre of 1871, in which a racially motivated mob descended into Los Angeles’ Chinatown and perpetrated the largest mass lynching in American history. The resulting conviction and unlawful overturning of the decision remains one of the most tragic failings of the American judicial system.

The film stars Korean starlet Clara Lee (Goddess of Marriage), Taiwan based Godfrey Gao (The Queen of SOP), Russell Wong (Romeo Must Die), Tzi Ma (Arrival), Tsai Chin (The Joy Luck Club), and is directed by the British born Po Chih Leong (Hong Kong 1941).
