Newly released from Kadokawa, we see our first look at the live action film adaptation of Tatsunoko Productions’ Hurricane Polymar from action director Koichi Sakamoto. A veteran of numerous costumed series and films’ Sakamoto is perhaps best known for his work in the American Power Rangers television adaptations, Ultraman, and the English language cult action films Drive and Broken Path. The film is set to star Junpei Mizobata, Yuki Yamada, Mikie Hara, and Yurina Yanagi.
Created by Tatsunoko Pro in 1974 by Tatsuo Yoshida, Hurricane Polymar follows a costumed superhero who utilizes armor ploymer and magnetic/centrifugal forces. Animated adaptations were released in 1974 and 1996 as well as appearances in TatsuPro’s own Time Bokan OVAs as well as the Capcom fighting game Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom alongside other fighters such as Megaman, Ryu, and other costumed heroes like Yatterman and Gatchman.
