Trailer For Kim Ki-duk’s “One on One” Hits Hard and Serious!

The first full trailer for the highly anticipated new film from acclaimed director Kim Ki-duk has arrived online and does it look like a doozy.

CAST – Ma Dong-Seok, Kim Young-Min, Lee Yi-Kyung, Jo Dong-In, Te O, Ahn Ji-Hye, Jo Jae-Ryong, Kim Joong-Ki

SYNOPSIS – A high school girl is brutally murdered. One of the 7 men behind the girl’s murder gets abducted by some highly trained soldiers on his way home. He gets tortured and forced to write a confession to the murder, then gets released. Regretting that he had once believed himself to be invincible, the man suffers from the terrors that now dominate him. However, he later learns that other assailants to the murder case had also been abducted, tortured, and even committed suicide. Getting suspicious of the people who abducted him, the man tails the next victim and discovers their hideout.

The trailer itself certainly feels like vintage Kim with its use of overbearing music but hard close ups and long takes. It definitely looks to be a brutal sort of film and I for one cannot wait for the chance to see it. One on One gets released in Korean theatres May 22, 2014!
