Upcoming Live Action Adaptation of Ishinomori’s 009-1 Manga

Here’s a first look at the upcoming live-action adaptation of 009-1 the classic cyborg/hero manga by famed creator Shotaro Ishinomori. The plot follows a female cyborg names Milene who uses her cyborg body and super abilities as a spy. While the film’s trailer seems pretty average and features some dreadful looking CGI, I have to say I’m kind of looking forward to this one. I love the classic story and though some liberties are being taken with the material, with action director Koichi Sakamoto at the helm, I can expect some terrific fights and action. Not the first adaptation of the manga, the series was adapted into a live action drama series in 1969 and an anime series in 2006. Look for 009-1 to hit Japanese theatres this September. Take a look at the trailer below!
